Exhibitor Interview: Nexam Chemical

Ahead of the Plastics Recycling World Expo, we interviewed Nexam Chemical to discuss their innovative solutions for improving the quality and performance of recycled polymers.

Their team shared insights on industry trends, the importance of upcycling, and their company goals.

Can you provide a brief overview of your company and the products/ services you'll be showcasing at the event?

Nexam Chemical is dedicated to the development and production of additives that improve the properties and performance of polymers. As a cleantech company, Nexam Chemical remains committed to innovation and sustainability, continuously focused on cutting-edge solutions to create a more circular economy for plastics.

In addition to our popular NEXAMITEÒ reactive masterbatches for polyolefin and PET upcycling, we will be showcasing our latest innovation, NEXCIRCLE™ R801, a new chain extender that boosts the viscosity and quality of recycled polyamides, including PA-6, PA-6,6 and other aliphatic polyamides, delivering improved processability and higher quality end-products.

What recent trends or developments in the industry are you most excited about, and how do your products/ services align with them?

Upcycling of waste plastics to increase recycled content and promote circular economy.  A central challenge for plastics is degradation, both in processing and in service. This leads to recyclates with inferior material properties and severe application limitations. To meet this challenge, Nexam Chemical has developed Reactive Recycling™, featuring reactive masterbatches specifically tailored to rebuild the molecular weight of recycled polyolefin, PET, and polyamide feedstocks.

Could you share a success story or case study demonstrating how your products/ services have benefited a customer?

Nexam Chemical’s advanced IV enhancers improve the performance and quality of rPET sheets, making them suitable for a wide range of applications from packaging to industrial use. We are achieving new levels of success with customers in Australia, Mexico, Pakistan, and the USA.  Customers are reporting both manufacturing efficiencies and improved cost positions.

Will you be conducting any demonstrations or interactive activities at the event? If so, what can attendees expect?

Henrik Lundquist will be giving an industry presentation entitled “Improve and Increase the Recycled Content in Your Products Using Reactive Masterbatches.”  We also welcome everyone to visit us at Booth R635.

What are your company's goals for the future, and how do you see yourselves contributing to the evolving industry landscape?

Nexam Chemical is on a growth trajectory, and we intend to build on our success by expanding our presence in the recycling sector with continued new product launches, collaborative partnerships, and an unwavering dedication to customer success. We’re here for the long term.

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s show?

Sharing knowledge and driving innovation by networking at this intimate show is something we look forward to each November.  Cleveland is a very welcoming city and we love meeting prospects, customers and industry colleagues here.  Add in a few of our favorite restaurants, and it becomes a great week!
