Speaker Interview: Herwin Santos, Lindor
Please share some background on yourself and your company
Herwin Santos, a dedicated chemical engineer, began his career at Evides Industriewater, where he led a pilot installation to test innovative wastewater treatment technologies. This experience sparked his enduring passion for pilot testing.
In 2018, he joined Lindor Products as a Process Engineer. Over the past decade at Lindor, Herwin has amassed extensive hands-on expertise in soaking trials for cross-linkable polymers. He played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing a state-of-the-art
lab for client trials and R&D.
Herwin's journey continued as he advanced to Sales and Process Engineering Manager, and he now serves as the General Manager at Lindor, driving innovation and excellence in polymer processing.
Lindor Products is an engineering firm and manufacturer of mixers and other rotary drum processing equipment for the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and polymer sectors, renowned for its state-of-the-art gentle processing technique. Within the polymer industry, Lindor is a leading manufacturer of soaking equipment for crosslinking Semicon, XLPE, and EPR.
What are the key characteristics of your technology?
Lindor’s signature gentle technique ensures that the integrity of the particles remains perfectly intact throughout processing, resulting in an output of the highest quality.
Our technology is utilized in the production of crosslinked compounds for mid- to extra-high-voltage cables and is considered state-of-the-art due to the following features:
- Even distribution of crosslinking agent across the batch of polymer particles
- Full protection of the integrity of the particles
- Precise control of the temperature during the rotary soaking cycle
- Contaminant-proof and hyper-clean internal design
- The meticulously engineered design of the machine makes it inherently easy to operate and maintain
What has been your proudest accomplishment since working at Lindor?
Herwin's proudest accomplishment at Lindor has been the development of the lab and trial center. He has taken it from a singular mixer on a platform to a fully equipped testing center with various types of rotary processing machines. Additionally, he has designed a blueprint for the best possible customer journey experience before, during, and after the trials. This transformation has enabled the company to conduct dedicated trials for crosslinking applications.
The lab allows clients and prospective clients to test their applications during the R&D stage or before making a purchase, ensuring that their specific needs and concerns are addressed.
The lab has proven invaluable, providing continuous learning and improvement opportunities for Lindor's engineers. Insights gained from in-house trials and customer feedback have driven the evolution of the next generation of the Lindor rotary soaker.
What are you most looking forward to from the expo?
