Exhibitor Interview: LACTIPS
Ahead of the upcoming Compounding World Expo, Lactips discusses their innovative bioplastics and commitment to a greener future.
Can you provide a brief overview of your company and the products/services you'll be showcasing at the event
Lactips is a forerunner in the world of natural polymers made of proteins, developping, producing and marketing a 100% bio-based, totally biodegradable in all environments and water-soluble material without leaving behind microplastics. At the AMI Plastic World Expo, we will showcase our latest advancements in natural and functional bioplastics designed for packaging, agricultural, and industrial applications. These materials offer a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics, aligning with the global push towards environmental responsibility and reduced plastic pollution.
What recent trends or developments in the industry are you most excited about, and how do your products/services align with them?
The industry is increasingly focused on sustainability, circular economy principles, and reducing plastic waste. Innovations in biodegradable and compostable materials are at the forefront of this shift. Our products align perfectly with these trends, as they are designed to be environmentally friendly. We are particularly excited about the growing adoption of these materials in various sectors, driven by both consumer demand and regulatory pressures. Our solutions help companies meet these new standards while maintaining high performance and functionality.
Could you share a success story or case study demonstrating how your products/services have benefited a customer?
One of our notable success stories is with a leading company that adopted our biodegradable material for seed growth system. Faced with the escalating mortality rate of seedlings due to climate change, Lactips and them have collaborated in a Franco-German partnership to create a 100% biodegradable, biosourced cocoon to protect tree roots. This innovative system guarantees a survival rate of over 90% for seedlings, particularly in regions severely affected by drought. It fits in perfectly with ambitious reforestation programs in France. By switching to Lactips' biodegradable natural polymer, they significantly reduced their environmental impact and met necessary requirements for sustainable practices.
Will you be conducting any demonstrations or interactive activities at the event? If so, what can attendees expect?
We will present our product applications live, complemented by performance demonstrations through videos and educational materials. Additionally, our interactive displays will allow attendees to engage with our materials and ask questions to our experts.
What are your company's goals for the future, and how do you see yourselves contributing to the evolving industry landscape?
Our primary goal is to lead the transition towards a more sustainable and circular plastics economy. We aim to expand our product range and applications, continually improving the performance and environmental benefits of our materials. By fostering collaborations with industry leaders and innovators, we plan to drive adoption of biodegradable plastics. We envision a future where our solutions are integral to reducing plastic pollution and achieving global sustainability targets.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s show?
We're really looking forward to meeting industry peers, potential partners and customers at this year's show. It's a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing our latest innovations and gaining a better understanding of emerging trends and challenges.
We look forward to engaging discussions and collaborations that can help move the industry towards a more sustainable future. In addition, we look forward to seeing the advances and innovations presented by other exhibitors, which can inspire and
