In this week's exhibitor interview we spoke to Margaret Baumann, Business Manager, NA – FRX Polymers and Vice chair of Pinfa NA. 

Pinfa is a global organization of non Hal flame retardant producers and users.

What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?

We are a not for profit trade group whose mission is to educate that market on alternative flame retardant chemistries and commitment to continue to improve our products environmental and toxicological profile.

Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?

Our members are developing new product offerings – e.g. FRX Polymers markets a polymeric Non Hal FR

What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today and how can this be overcome?

General bad press on the need for flame retardant additives – some states in the US e.g. California, had taken action to limit or eliminate the use of these additives.

How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?

Fire Safety will continue to be a high area of need due to markets served and increasingly stringent safety standards.

What are you most looking forward to at this years’ show?

Exhibiting at an in person event.
