From its very beginning, Aurora Plastics has worked from a foundation of experience and dedication, with a mission to provide our customers with the best products available in the industry.
Aurora Plastics was founded in 1997 by three vastly experienced thermoplastic professionals dedicated to meeting the global quality challenges facing the industry, who successfully grew the company for 19 years.
In August 2016, Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan partnered to acquire Aurora Plastics. This provided us with the investment support for new product development and geographic expansion, while allowing us to maintain a culture of excellence in product and service.
From August 2016 to August 2021, Aurora Plastics expanded from two manufacturing facilities to five to better serve our customers’ needs. These manufacturing sites were a part of four company acquisitions (Plastique Reinier, S&E Specialty Polymers, JP Specialties South and Elastocon).
In August of 2021,Nautic Partners, a Providence, Rhode Island private equity firm, acquired Aurora Plastics. Nautic’s focus is to support our continued growth into new markets, new products and applications.
In March 2023, Enviroplas, Inc. merged with Aurora Plastics. This exciting union represented Aurora Plastics’ launch of an engineered thermoplastic compounds business segment, and provides our customers an expanded product offering. It also adds a sixth manufacturing facility and broadens our reach into the specialty automotive, electronics/electrical, industrial, U.S. military, heavy trucks and aerospace markets.
