Tom began is career in plastics after graduating with an MBA in 1981.
He started out selling PVC resins and compounds for Diamond Shamrock out of Cleveland OH.
When part of Diamond Shamrock’s plants were sold to Formosa Plastics Tom took his experience to Formosa Plastics and steadily expanded his knowledge and background to include PVC, PE and PP resins and compounds as well over an 18 year career at FPC.
After holding jobs in sales, marketing, and management Tom decided he wanted to continue to grow his opportunities in other areas of plastics. He joined a team that purchased American Thermoplastic Corporation [ Formerly Chevron Phillips] out of Houston TX.
He continued to build that business for 9 years when in 2010 he and his partner Rich Mejia were able to purchase the company and grow the business 400% over the last 10 years with the team they have in place currently.
ATC Plastics is now one of the largest Black Color Concentrate companies in the US. It also does toll compounding and custom compounding.
The plant is located in Houston TX and has steadily expanded over the last few years to its current capacity.
The facility is located on almost 12 acres on the east side of Houston and has room for more growth in the future.
