Dr. John Swanson is the R&D Director at NeoGraf Solutions, with over 15 years of expertise in materials science research and a proven track record of innovation. At NeoGraf, John leads the R&D team in harnessing the unique properties of graphite—thin, lightweight, flexible, fire retardant, and thermally conductive—to drive innovation in applications in electric vehicles, graphene and nanomaterials, thermal management, building & construction, and more.

Previously, he held key roles at Avient Corporation, where he contributed to the development of advanced thermoplastic solutions. John holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the University of Akron and a B.S. in Biochemistry, Polymers & Coatings from Cal Poly SLO. He is an inventor on multiple patents and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
