Japan Steel Works Europe's latest advanced technologies for mechanical and chemical recycling post-consumer plastic waste
TEX twin-screw extruder
THE JAPAN STEEL WORKS, LTD., is the famous manufacturer of the high-performance twin-screw extruders “TEX series”. Experts from its European office in Germany will detail the latest innovations for recycling processes along with after-sales services such as maintenance, spare parts stocks, and barrel/screw measurement services.
According to Thomas Behne, Deputy Press Officer at Japan Steel Works Europe, “JSW will disclose in the time frame of Compounding World Expo (11-12 September 2024, Brussels, Belgium) latest advanced technologies for mechanical and chemical recycling of post-consumer plastic waste.
The technology comprises:
1. One of the unique technologies like special stuffing devices: the Compacter to address challenges such as feeding low-density various fluffs (film shreds) into extruders
2. Progressing the development of technologies removing hydrogen chloride introduced by contaminated PVC/PVDC from mixed plastic waste, which can have adverse effects on equipment and the environment during recycling processes.
3. Lately installed new continuous melt filtration system at JSW Europe extrusion technical center (Düsseldorf, Germany) which can handle materials with high contamination levels.
This enables extrusion trials for a wide variety of recycling applications on both mechanical and chemical recycling. Soon, a detailed report will be prepared and shared with the trade community.”
Japan Steel Works will be at the Compounding World Expo Europe. Visit them at stand C1140.
