In our latest exhibitor interview, we spoke to Jessica Bonnes, Senior Marketing Manager at OCS Optical Control Systems GmbH.

For over 30 years, OCS – Optical Control Systems GmbH has been known for innovative, customer-specific solutions for quality control and assurance in the polymer and petrochemical industries. In particular, OCS has made a name for itself internationally with customised quality measurement systems and laboratory equipment for raw material manufacturing and the plastics processing industry.

The range of services extends from the manufacture of future-oriented quality measurement systems to system integration and the planning, implementation and commissioning of turnkey laboratories.

What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?

The products we develop are important, but how we develop them is just as essential. Developing tailor-made solutions together with our customers,

that is our main task. For us, R&D is an important part of the corporate strategy and forms the essential pillar for creating internal growth and maintaining long-term competitiveness. The direct involvement of R&D experts in project development, quotation and project execution is an essential factor for economic success. Customers and consulting sales staff can directly access R&D know-how, and at the same time current market developments flow directly into development projects. In this way, we develop the right solution for every customer.

 

What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today and how can this be overcome?

Even during the Corona crisis we were able to prove ourselves and the whole staff stood behind OCS. Now we have to continue to focus on future projects and innovations.

 

How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?

Digitalisation (Industry 4.0) will continue to be a major topic as well as the resulting improved optimisation of production processes and product quality.

 

What are you most looking forward to at this years’ show?

We are looking forward to our "home show" here in Essen in the Ruhr region after a long break due to the consequences of the pandemic. Personal closeness through conversations on the product, for once not virtually. that's what makes us most happy.
